Assignment 19A- Idea Napkin No. 2
My name is Madison Burken. I am a Junior at UF majoring in general
business with a specialization in event management. One of my main aspirations
is to help people. With my business idea, I plan to help other women who go to
the salon to get their nails done. My product is a top coat clear polish that
can be put on any kind of nail polish. This nail polish will prevent chipping and
make nails last 4-6 weeks. If I were to pursue this business, it would play a
large role in my life. I would do anything I can for this business to be
successful and to successfully help other women out there save money and time.
I came up with this product because I became tired of having to get my nails
done so often. I get my nails done every 2-3 weeks and I usually go because my
nails become messed up. With this product I would help save other women money
and time. Money would be saved because women would not have to spend money as
often. Time would be saved because women would not have to take time out of
their day to go the nail salon and wait for their nails to be done. I am offering
this to both individuals and businesses. The individuals I would sell to would
be women who get their nails done frequently. I see these women being busy,
therefore, saving time is very valuable. My customers would pay money for this
product because they would be interested in saving money and time. A major part
of this product for me is the convenience factor. Having to go to the salon so often
can be very tedious and time consuming. I think that what sets me apart from
everyone else is that my product is a top coat and can go on top of any kind of
nail polish such as gel, dipped powder, acrylic, regular nail polish, etc. Gel
and dipped powder are two things that help with how long nail polish lasts. I
have had both of these kinds of nail services and I still am not happy with the
quality, price, and the amount of time that they last.
I really think that these elements really fit together. I
think that each of these aspects correlate and work together with the purpose of
my product. I am someone who values having nicely done nails and when they
become messed up, it really upsets me. My passion for having nice nails led me
to create this product, a top coat that lasts 4-6 weeks. I am offering this to
other women who have the same passion for getting their nails done as I do. This
product is important to me because I want to help other women save time and
money. My product is different because it can be applied on top of all nail
polishes. I think that these five aspects are important and work together very
well.
One important piece of feedback I got was from a peer who
said that after he read my personality traits and abilities, he thinks that I would
be a good fit for this business idea. This was important to me because it made
me realize how passionate I am about this idea and finding a solution to short term
nail polish. A second important piece of feedback that I got was from a peer
who said he liked the way that I described myself and my traits and then how it
really reeled him in. This was important to me because it demonstrated how he
also thought I had good traits for pursuing this business idea. Even if I do
not go further with this product idea, I really hope that someone out there
will come up with a product to solve nail polish chipping. I incorporated this feedback into this idea napkin by
digging deeper and explaining the benefits of my product.
Hello Madison! I completely agree that the major component of this product is the convenience factor. Being able to avoid going to the nail salon would be very appealing not only to women but to men as well. Men would be able to spend more time with their significant other instead of waiting for them while they're at the salon. Great post and I really hope you get this product out there!
ReplyDeleteHey Madison, I just read your post and it was really interesting! I think it is really cool how you were able to use the feedback you received. Your product idea sounds very appealing and it seems that if this was ever actually made, many people would buy your product. I really think you should not give up on this idea and further it!
ReplyDeleteHey Madison! Loved reading about your idea napkin and how you were able to use feedback to better it. This isn't the first time I have read about your idea, but it keeps getting better and better the more detail and thought you put into it. I hope you continue using feedback to your advantage in order to improve the weaknesses of the product and capitalize on its strengths.
