Assignment 16A- What's Your Secret Sauce?
I think that I am unique in many ways. The first way is that I am very hardworking. When I did not get into UF I worked my butt off at Santa Fe and studied 24/7 until I got my AA and was accepted as a transfer. The second way is that I love math. Math comes very easy to me and if I could do math problems all day I would. It truly brings me joy (I know it’s weird). The third was is that I am organized. I use a planner and plan my week with what homework and other activities I have going on. I also know where everything is all the time. The fourth one is that I am optimistic. I am always looking at the bright side of things no matter what is going on in life. The fifth one is that I am responsible. I am the friend in my friend group that is always checking on everyone making sure that they got home okay from a night out.
The five people that I interviewed are in my sorority. My pledge class from this spring is only ten girls and we have been able to bond so quickly because there are so few of us. Lexy (the first one) said that I am always messing around and having fun but that I can be serious when I need to be. Kata (the second on) said that I am an approachable friend and am always there for people when they need me the most. In my pledge class, I am the mom of the group. I am always checking up on people when I know they are going out or just not having a good day. I think what Kata said personifies this. Lucy (the third one) said that I am always happy, I know how to make people laugh, and that I am always in a good mood. Jane (the fourth person) said that I am always very energetic and very motivated. I agree with what she said. I am a very motivated person, when I have things that need to be done, I get them done. Reagan (the fifth person) said that I am very sweet and sassy (not in a mean way). I am very sassy with Reagan and it is fun to mess around with her. I see a common trend among my interviewees that they all see me as a happy person. I think this is funny because I don’t see myself as always being happy. My sorority sisters all see me as someone who is very energetic,
kind, motherly, and outgoing. I do not see myself as outgoing at all. I am
someone who would rather stay in and watch tv in my pajamas. I am also not someone
to initiate conversations with someone I do not know very well. I am someone who
does get very excited when I am with people I know, love, and can be myself
with. This is why my sorority sisters see me as outgoing. I do think that my
interviewees are correct about me. It is hard for us on the inside to determine
what we are and what makes us unique. People on the outside see us how we truly
are. I would not make any corrections to my original list of ways that I see
myself as unique. I do agree with what my interviewees said about me,
therefore, I would make the list longer and still stick to my original 5
traits.
Hi Madison. I felt like I got to know you in this blog post. The people you interviewed seem to know you very well. I am also very organized as well and I can relate to working hard for something you want. When I didn’t get into the college of my choice, I was super sad but I have worked my very best to be where I am and I am thankful for the opportunity and was able to learn from it.
